Why Self-Love Is So Important
I've come to understand that our evolution is not measured by how spiritual we appear to be or by how many good deeds we perform. True growth is reflected in the way we treat ourselves.
When we begin to embody the knowing that we are a fractal expression of God, it changes the way we see ourselves. If God were standing before us in physical form, would we criticize, shame, judge, or insult Him? Yet this is often what we do to ourselves when we deny ourselves love, compassion, and acceptance.
Self-love is not arrogance. It is not ego. It is the ability to view ourselves without judgment and to recognize our inherent worth.
The journey of self-love begins by peeling away the layers of programming we received as children. By the age of seven, much of our subconscious mind has been shaped by the beliefs of our parents, teachers, religious leaders, and society. We absorb their views without question because we are too young to know any different.
As souls, we arrive here carrying our own unique essence and inner knowing. Yet over time, that knowing becomes buried beneath the expectations and beliefs of others. We begin living according to a script that was handed to us rather than one we consciously chose.
This disconnect can show up as frustration, anxiety, restlessness, or a feeling that we don't quite belong. Deep within, the soul remembers who it is. It remembers why it came here. When we live in ways that contradict that inner truth, we feel the tension between who we have been taught to be and who we truly are.
Self-love is the process of returning home to ourselves. It is the willingness to question old beliefs, release limiting stories, and embrace the truth of who we are beneath the conditioning. As we learn to love ourselves without judgment, we begin to align with the wisdom of our soul and the divine spark that has always existed within us.
